Enfinity embeds sustainable growth with ISO 14001 and EMAS
Following on from the recognition by PV Cycle (the European association active in the collection and recycling of photovoltaic panels) of Enfinity’s Assenede branch as an official Belgian collection point, Enfinity is taking another decisive step forward. Enfinity targets the highest possible level of sustainability in all its activities, but such a vision needs to be expressed and applied in all operational processes. IS0 14001 certification offers the ideal framework for Enfinity’s further organisation and development as a sustainable company, while the Quality and Reliability department ensures the monitoring of the procedures at Enfinity itself.
In all of its operational processes, the company undertakes to respect all relevant environmental aspects, together with the health and safety of its staff, clients, contractors, visitors and other contributors. The day-to-day work is regulated by a detailed action plan, established as part of its environmental declaration, with the aim of achieving concrete environmental targets such as reducing consumption of electricity and water, lowering levels of waste and fuel consumption, etc.
About EMAS
The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a European management system aimed at companies and other organisations which allows them to assess, report and, if necessary, update their environmental provisions. For Enfinity, the registration encompasses all activities of Enfinity SA and its project companies (SPV).
About ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is a standard forming part of the set of 16 international ISO 14000 standards, the aim of which is to help companies reduce the impact of their activities on the environment. The standard is consequently not an environmental management system in itself and thus imposes no requirements in terms of environmental provisions. ISO certification does however serve as a framework for helping organisations to develop their own environmental management systems. ISO 14001 can be integrated with other management functions and helps companies to achieve their targets in terms of both business economics and the environment, within the existing legal framework set up by the authorities.
